As It Stands

(This one turned out really good. I like the scheme, and the message. Trying to make sense of something without any evidence for any sort of interpretation whatsoever. Of being uncertain, and fearing the unknown.)

Why do I believe
You don’t want to talk to me
That you’d rather
Be far, far away?

Why do I believe
You have somewhere else to be
And you wish I’d
Simply step out of your way?

Why is it I think
That you wish I had left your life
Do you really
Think it’s better when I’m gone?

Why is it I think
That I’m just causing you strife
Is it really
That I should be moving on?

Why is it you don’t
Just say you want me gone
So that I don’t have to obsess
And wring my hands?

Why is it you don’t
Let me know I’m right or wrong?
